ABOUT AFUNA AROMATICS
The Quiet Power of Fragrance
Fragrance has accompanied me for as long as I can remember. Growing up in West Africa, I experienced aroma through beauty, preparation, memory, faith, ceremony, and everyday life. I loved exploring fragrance, experimenting with it, and noticing how it could shape the feeling of a moment.
Afuna is my African name. It means love.
For years, I shouldered responsibilities at home and at work, anticipating what others needed and keeping things moving. I had become so accustomed to being dependable that I rarely stopped to listen to myself.
During a profound life and health transition, fragrance became a ritual of protection and reconnection. It gave me space to pause, reflect, and begin the sacred work of remembering myself. Afuna Aromatics was born in that return.
That is the woman I had in mind when I created Afuna Aromatics. Here, you can make room to Release what has become heavy, Remember your magnificence and worth, and Reign in your everyday life with joy, clarity, dignity, and power.
WHERE SCIENCE MEETS RITUAL
Fragrance • Formulation • Intention
I can still see myself walking across Spelman College’s campus, surrounded by the beauty and strength of sisterhood, as a chemistry student. My path later took me to Howard University, where I studied chemical engineering.
Together, the two disciplines form a blend that shapes how I explore aromatherapy and build Afuna Aromatics with care. Experimenting, measuring, testing, and refining are all part of how I develop each fragrance.
My lifelong relationship with fragrance, my work in formulation, and the intention that guided my return to myself come together in Afuna Aromatics.
Fragrance Is the Cue
Fragrance is the cue to pause, notice what you are carrying, and choose how you want to enter the next moment.
You might begin the morning with a fragrance that reflects your intention, taking a moment to consider how you want to work, lead, and meet the people around you. As you return home, a different fragrance may help you create an atmosphere for quiet reflection or for gathering with people you love to celebrate a meaningful moment. When the evening draws to a close, fragrance can mark a pause as you Release the demands of the day and make room for rest.
The Sisterhood Collection
When it was time to introduce Afuna Aromatics, I chose to begin with women because I know how much we carry. We care for families, lead, build, nurture, and hold space for others, often leaving too little room for our own care.
The Sisterhood Collection was created for the full range of our lives: the moments when we are ready to Release what feels heavy, Remember our worth, or celebrate, rise, and Reign. It is my invitation to make room for yourself and choose a fragrance that meets you in the moment you are in.
The Sisterhood Collection features six signature blends: Crown of Clarity, Release, Sacred Balance, Sovereign, Evening Reign, and Rise & Reign. Each offers a distinct fragrance journey for moments of intention and transition. Each is available as a Mood Mist and Body Oil.

THE RITUAL OF REMEMBRANCE
Release. Remember. Reign.
I developed the Ritual of Remembrance because it was what I needed. It gave language to a rhythm I had begun to recognize in my own life and a way to meet each moment with intention.
You can begin by bringing intention to a familiar part of your day. At your desk, you might pause to choose an intention for clarity and focus, or consider how you want to enter the room before an important meeting. After a shower, fragrance can become part of the care you give your body. It may accompany journaling, quiet reflection, the release of the day, or a joyful moment of celebration.
Begin with the part of the Ritual that meets you now: releasing what has become too heavy, remembering your worth, wisdom, beauty, and magnificence, or reigning with intention as you move forward, grounded in who you are.
You can return to Release, Remember, and Reign in the order and rhythm your life asks of you, through one quiet pause or an entire season.
Fragrance helps make the intention tangible. When you encounter the scent again, it can remind you of what you chose for yourself.
On the Ritual page, I share reflection questions and a guided way to begin your own practice. As Afuna Aromatics grows, I will continue creating journaling prompts, affirmation cards, and other resources to help you make the Ritual your own.
